Little explanation how the installation process works and what to expect if you plan to renovate your bathroom, kitchen or any floor tile installation at your house.

Tile Installation Process

DEMOLITION
For the first step we clear the surface from old materials. This includes walls sheetrock , old flooring, or anything that distorts the surface where the tile will be applied. We do all the repair or preparation necessary to have all surfaces ready to received the tile installation.

PREPARATION
Next we must prepare the sublayer, this is where the tiles will rest upon. It must be flat and clean before we can apply the mortar. Mortar is a paste that hardens in order to bind the tiles. If the installation is on the shower area the insulation, walls and drain will be prepared as necessary to received the new Tile.

INSTALLATION
This is when the magic happens. Once the mortar is applied, our crew begins placing the tiles. It takes precision and practice to properly place all tiles, each piece should fit like a puzzle. Typically it takes 24 hours for the mortar to cure.

FOLLOWING DAY
‍The last step is to apply grout, a paste used to fill any crevices between the tiles. Grout takes another 24 hours to cure until it is ready for use.

It is important for the area to remain untouched throughout the installation process. This way no tiles will shift, and the surface can dry properly.

Before leaving, our crew will clean the area for your family’s use.
